The Aaronic Blessing
Given to Moses for Aaron and his sons in Numbers 6:24–26, this is the oldest blessing text in continuous liturgical use.
The Lord bless you, and keep you.
The Lord make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you.
The Lord lift up his face toward you, and give you peace.

About the prayer
A silver amulet bearing it, excavated at Ketef Hinnom in Jerusalem, dates to about the seventh century BC. Lutheran, Anglican, and many Protestant services still close with it, and parents commonly pray it over children at bedtime.
