The blessing of a house, used in Catholic, Orthodox and Anglican practice when a family moves in and at Epiphany, when the door is marked with chalk.
Lord God almighty,
bless this house and all who live in it.
Let there be within these walls health of body,
purity of heart, and peace of soul.
Bless the door, that all who come may find welcome;
bless the table, that we may share what we have;
bless the beds, that those who sleep may rest without fear.
Drive far from this place every snare of the enemy;
let your holy angels dwell here to keep us in peace,
and let your blessing be upon us always;
through Christ our Lord. Amen.
