A Prayer for a Troubled Marriage

Lord, we are not where we hoped to be. The same argument keeps returning. The distance between us has grown quiet, which is worse. We ask you to do what we have not managed on our own. Soften what is hard in me before you deal with what is hard in them. Give me the humility to apologize first and the patience to wait for change. Where trust is broken, rebuild it slowly and truly. Where love has cooled, rekindle it. You raise the dead, Lord. Do not let this die. Amen.
