A Prayer While Awaiting Test Results

God, the waiting is its own affliction. My mind runs ahead into every possible outcome and lives each one before it happens. Call me back to this hour, which is the only one you have given me. Whatever the result, you already know it, and you are already there. Give me sleep tonight, and courage for the phone call. Whatever comes, you will not leave me. Amen.
