A two-verse prayer buried in the genealogies of 1 Chronicles 4:9–10, which notes simply that "God granted him that which he requested.
Oh that you would bless me indeed,
and enlarge my border!
May your hand be with me,
and may you keep me from evil,
that it may not bring me pain!

About the prayer
" Largely unknown for centuries, it became widely prayed after Bruce Wilkinson's 2000 book; it is best read as a request for God-given scope for service rather than for personal prosperity.
