Prayer of St. Aloysius Gonzaga for Purity
O holy Mary, my Mistress,
into your blessed trust and safekeeping,
and into the depths of your mercy,
I commend this day and every day
my soul and body.
To you I commit all my hopes and consolations,
all my anxieties and miseries,
my life and the end of my life,
that through your most holy intercession
and through your merits,
all my actions may be directed and disposed
according to your will
and that of your Divine Son. Amen.

About the prayer
St. Aloysius Gonzaga (1568–1591) renounced a noble inheritance to enter the Society of Jesus and died at twenty-three caring for plague victims in Rome. Canonized in 1726, he was declared patron of youth and is honored above all for angelic purity of life. This prayer of self-entrustment to Our Lady, preserved among his devotions, is prayed each morning by those who take him as a model, and by young people asking for the same singleness of heart.
