Act of Consecration on Receiving the Brown Scapular

O Mary, Mother of God and Queen of Carmel, I consecrate myself to thee this day and receive thy holy habit as the sign of that consecration. Clothe me in thy virtues as thou hast clothed me in thy garment: in purity of heart, in humility, in obedience to thy Son. Let this cloth remind me every hour whose child I am. Obtain for me the grace to wear it worthily, to live chastely in the state to which God has called me, and to persevere in prayer until the end. And when my last hour comes, be thou my Mother still, that clothed in thy livery I may be presented to thy Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
