Prayer to Saint John Vianney
O Holy Priest of Ars,
Saint John Vianney,
whose only ambition was to save souls
and lead them to the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
intercede for us, we humbly pray.
Obtain for our priests
the grace to imitate your holy example,
that by their preaching and holy lives
they may guide us to Christ our Savior.
Obtain for us the grace
to value the sacrament of Reconciliation,
to approach the altar with reverence,
and to persevere in prayer.
Watch over all who labor in the priesthood,
especially those who are weary or discouraged,
and pray for an increase of holy vocations,
that the Church may never lack shepherds
after the Heart of Christ. Amen.
