Stations of the Cross: Opening Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, you took upon yourself the burden of our sin and carried your cross to Calvary for our sake. As I walk this way with you, grant me a share in your sorrow, a horror of the sin that put you there, and a love that will not turn aside. We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world. Grant that walking these stations I may not merely remember your Passion, but be conformed to it, and follow you at last to the joy of your resurrection. Amen.
