Holy Lord, we come with joy
to celebrate the birth of your Son,
who rescued us from the darkness of sin.
Bless this tree, an evergreen sign of life,
and may its lights remind us of him
who is the Light of the world,
that our hearts may shine with the brightness of Christ,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
