The blessing of the Advent wreath and its candles at the beginning of the Advent season.
Lord God, your Church joyfully awaits
the coming of its Saviour,
who enlightens our hearts
and dispels the darkness of ignorance and sin.
Pour forth your blessing upon this wreath,
and grant that we who use it
may prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ
and receive from him abundant grace.
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
