Morning Prayer (John Calvin, Geneva)

My God, my Father and Saviour, since you have commanded us to work for the needs of this life, sanctify our labour that it may profit us, and be pleasing in your sight. Grant that we may live in true fellowship with one another, without envy or malice. Give us grace to bear patiently with the faults of others, and to remember our own. Above all, keep us from being so occupied with this passing world that we forget the world to come, but let all our work be done to your glory and in the hope of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
