The Chaplet of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Devotion to the Sacred Heart was given its modern shape through the apparitions to St.
Begin: O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me.
On the thirty-three beads, one for each year of Our Lord's earthly life, pray on each:
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee.
Every eleventh bead:
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.
Conclude:
O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore Thee, I love Thee, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer Thee this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to Thy will. Good Jesus, live in me; let all my thoughts, words, and works be pleasing to Thee. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee. Amen.

Margaret Mary Alacoque at Paray-le-Monial (1673–1675), in which Our Lord asked for love and reparation for a world grown cold. The thirty-three beads of this chaplet mark the years of Christ's life on earth. It is prayed on First Fridays, in June (the month of the Sacred Heart), and by anyone seeking to grow in trust.
