According to the memoirs of Sister Lúcia, the Virgin Mary taught this prayer to the shepherd children at Fátima on July 13, 1917.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. Amen.

About the prayer
It is now commonly added after each decade of the Rosary. Its focus is not private safety but mercy for everyone, especially the most endangered.
