The Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

About the prayer
Given by Jesus himself when the disciples asked him how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:2-4), the Our Father is often called the perfect prayer because it contains, in order, every petition a Christian can rightly make: praise, submission to God's will, daily provision, forgiveness both received and given, and protection from evil. Tertullian called it "a summary of the whole gospel."
