Marian Prayers
Three Hail Marys Devotion
A short morning and evening devotion promoted by St.
Mary, my Mother, preserve me this day from mortal sin.
By the power granted thee by the Eternal Father: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
By the wisdom granted thee by the Son: Hail Mary...
By the love granted thee by the Holy Spirit: Hail Mary...
Traditional Three Hail Marys devotion
About the prayer
Mechtilde of Hackeborn in the thirteenth century and later by St. Alphonsus Liguori. The three Hail Marys honor the gifts associated with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Its purpose is a simple daily habit of fidelity rather than a substitute for the Rosary.
