Act of Reparation to the Blessed Sacrament
O Jesus, hidden in the Sacrament of the Altar,
I adore you with all the love of my heart.
I believe that you are truly present,
body and blood, soul and divinity,
under the appearance of bread.
I grieve for the coldness, the irreverence,
and the neglect with which you are received,
and for the hearts that pass your tabernacle by.
In reparation I offer you my love,
poor as it is, and the love of your Mother
and of all your saints.
May every moment of this hour
be an act of thanksgiving for so great a gift,
and may my life become an adoration
that does not end when I leave this place. Amen.

About the prayer
Acts of reparation before the Blessed Sacrament grew out of the Eucharistic revival of the seventeenth century and were strongly encouraged by Pope Pius XI in his 1928 encyclical Miserentissimus Redemptor, which urged Catholics to make amends for irreverence toward the Eucharist. This form belongs to the common tradition of Holy Hour prayers used in parishes for perpetual adoration.
