Commission of the Care of Soul and Body
A prayer of entrustment, given in the deliverance tradition for those who feel unable to keep watch over themselves — in illness, exhaustion, or prolonged spiritual attack.
Heavenly Father, I commit into Your hands the care of my soul and of my body.
I ask You to assign to me the angels You have appointed for my defense, and to place under Your protection my mind and my will, my memory and my imagination, my senses and my strength, my sleep and my waking.
What I cannot guard, guard for me. What I cannot see, see for me. What I cannot fight, fight for me.
Into Your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit. Amen.

About the prayer
It rests on the ancient conviction, expressed in Psalm 91:11, that God commands His angels concerning those who take refuge in Him, and it ends with the words of Christ from the Cross (Luke 23:46), which the Church has prayed every night at Compline for well over a thousand years.
