Remember, O most pure spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
O sweet protector St. Joseph,
that never was it known
that anyone who invoked your protection
and sought your aid was left unassisted.
Full of confidence in your power,
I fly unto you and beg your protection.
Despise not, O foster father of the Redeemer,
my humble supplication,
but in your bounty, hear and answer me. Amen.

About the prayer
Joseph. It spread widely in the nineteenth century through Raccolta-era devotional manuals and holy cards, as devotion to St. Joseph grew after Blessed Pius IX named him Patron of the Universal Church in 1870. It is prayed in moments of urgent need, when a person wants a father's intercession and the assurance that St. Joseph has never failed those who turn to him.
