Prayer Before a Journey

O God, who brought your servant Abraham out of the land of the Chaldeans and kept him safe in all his wanderings; who guided the Hebrew people through the desert; we ask that you watch over us, your servants, as we set out upon this journey. Be for us a companion on the road, a guide at the crossroads, a refuge in weariness, a shelter in danger, and a strength in weakness. Bring us safely to our destination and home again in joy; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
