Renewal of Baptismal Promises
The renewal of baptismal promises is the Church's own act of renunciation, made by every Christian at the Easter Vigil and at the reception of certain sacraments.
Do you renounce Satan? I do renounce him.
And all his works? I do renounce them.
And all his empty promises? I do renounce them.
Do you believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth? I do believe.
Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered death and was buried, rose again from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father? I do believe.
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting? I do believe.
And may almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given us new birth by water and the Holy Spirit and bestowed on us forgiveness of our sins, keep us by His grace in Christ Jesus our Lord, for eternal life. Amen.

About the prayer
Deliverance manuals place it at the foundation of everything else, because Baptism is the moment at which a person passes out of the dominion of darkness into the kingdom of the Son (Colossians 1:13). The threefold renunciation and threefold profession are among the oldest fixed formulas in Christian worship, described already by St. Hippolytus in the third century.
