Prayer to Be Freed from Evil Habits

Lord Jesus Christ, You know the habit that holds me. I have fought it and lost; I bring it to You. Break its power over my body and my will. Take from me the pleasure I have found in it, and give me instead a taste for what is good. Where the habit has worn a path in me, cut a new one. I renounce every spirit that feeds upon this weakness, and I ask You to send it to the foot of Your Cross. Fill what it leaves empty with Your Holy Spirit. Give me the grace of this day only, and tomorrow give me the grace of that day. Amen.
