Prayer for Freedom from Bondage
Father, You have delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of Your beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
So I ask You: let what is true of me in Christ be true of me in fact. Where I am still bound, set me free. Where I am still afraid, give me the Spirit of adoption. Where I still live as a slave, remind me that I am a son.
It is for freedom that Christ has set me free; let me not submit again to a yoke of slavery. If the Son sets me free, I am free indeed.
Lord Jesus, speak that freedom over me now, and let me walk in it. Amen.

About the prayer
A prayer woven from three New Testament passages that together form the scriptural basis of Christian deliverance: Colossians 1:13-14 on the transfer out of the dominion of darkness, Galatians 5:1 on standing fast in freedom, and John 8:36 — "if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." Its petition is characteristically Pauline: not that God would do something new, but that what He has already accomplished in Christ would take hold of the whole of a person's life.
