Prayer to Overcome Our Spiritual Enemies
O God, our refuge and our strength, arise and scatter our enemies. Let those who hate You flee before Your face.
Against the world, give me detachment. Against the flesh, give me discipline. Against the devil, give me the armor of God — the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit.
Let me fight not in my own strength, which is nothing, but in Yours, which is everything. And when the battle is over, let the victory be Yours, and the glory Yours alone. Amen.

About the prayer
A prayer against the three traditional enemies of the soul — the world, the flesh and the devil — a formula found in the Church's catechisms and in the Anglican Litany of the Book of Common Prayer alike. It opens with Psalm 68:1, the verse that begins the Eastern prayer to the Cross and the Roman rite of exorcism, and its central petition is a direct application of St. Paul's armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18, the New Testament's fullest description of spiritual warfare.
