Prayer Against Temptation
A prayer for the moment of trial, built around the pattern of Christ's own temptation in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11) and closing with the final petitions of the Our Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, You were tempted in the desert and did not yield. Stand with me now in my temptation.
When the enemy whispers, let me hear Your voice. When he flatters, give me humility. When he frightens, give me courage. When he wearies me, give me perseverance.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I say to every tempting spirit: be gone. I choose Christ. I choose the will of the Father. I choose the good.
Blessed Virgin Mary, keep me. Holy Guardian Angel, defend me. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil. Amen.

About the prayer
The short command "In the name of Jesus Christ, be gone" is the very formula Fr. Ripperger notes the Church has long recommended to the laity when tempted — a simple, direct rejection that requires no special faculty, since every baptized Christian may refuse the devil in the name of his Lord (James 4:7).
