Prayer to the Precious Blood for Protection
Devotion to the Precious Blood was promoted by St.
Eternal Father, I offer You the Precious Blood of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, in reparation for my sins and for the salvation of the whole world.
By that same Precious Blood, I ask You to cover me and all who belong to me. Cover our minds, our hearts, our bodies and our souls. Cover our home, our work and our sleep. Let no evil pass through it, and let no claim of the enemy stand where it has been poured out.
Precious Blood of Jesus, wash me. Precious Blood of Jesus, strengthen me. Precious Blood of Jesus, defend me.
Save us, Savior of the world, for by Your Cross and Resurrection You have set us free. Amen.

About the prayer
Gaspar del Bufalo, who founded the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1815, and Pope Pius IX extended its feast to the universal Church in 1849. In deliverance practice the Blood of Christ is invoked as protection because Scripture attributes to it both redemption and victory: "they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb" (Revelation 12:11). The prayer's opening offering is the same one prayed on the beads of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
